Such exciting news--I've been awarded a full scholarship to attend the North Carolina Writers Network Fall Conference, coming up in Charlotte, NC, November 21-23rd!
I've been a member of the NCWN off and on for years, but i've only previously attended one conference of theirs, because they usually conflict with my professional responsibilities in terms of the academic year and the theatre season. Can't ghost on a tech weekend to attend a conference! But this year, i was thrilled to find that the fall conference fell at a time when i might attend. At the theatre, we'll have opened our two repertory shows, Into the Woods and A Midsummer Night's Dream, and i'm not teaching a Friday class this fall. Great!
I'm really looking forward to the workshops and panel discussions, the networking opportunities and Alan Gurganus' keynote address. And, a weekend away in general should be fun.
And truly, I'm so thrilled to receive this award from my fellow North Carolina writers! It's such an honor.
